On April 21st WRFN hosted our third annual Evening of Elegance at the beautiful Centrestage Lounge in Centre in the Square. This year guests were able to travel through our tasting bars and learn about our chosen wines along with an added beer tasting from local brewer Descendants Beer & Beverage Co. Delectable food created by ChefD was matched to make the perfect pairings!
During the event we also honoured Carol Maas with WRFN’s Gerry Sullivan Award for Volunteerism. Carol began her volunteer involvement with WRFN as a parent mentor taking on mentoring matches to support other parents going through a similar journey. Carol also participates in the Kaleidoscope Kids program as a parent volunteer for WRFN every week. There Carol connects with families, supports them in listening and shares information with them about her personal journey as well as community supports.
Local morning radio host Mike Farwell emceed the evening and helped to make the sold-out event such a success. We were thrilled to raise $18 500 that will go directly to providing support and guidance to families of children and individuals with exceptionalities! The evening wrapped up with an exciting raffle for two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies won by Gary Pooley.
The evening would not have been possible without the support of many organizations and people. Thank you to…
