Learn about the many amazing Kitchener-Waterloo agencies and services that can support a smooth transition to an active, enjoyable adult life! This event is for families of St. David Catholic Secondary School, St. Mary's High School, and Resurrection Catholic Secondary School.  

 

 

You are also welcome to attend a speaker session with Ron Hallman, Ph.D., on building resilience, at 6 p.m. in the Library, sponsored by the St. David CSS Parent Council.

Government Agencies Attending

  • Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) - Developmental Services Ontario Central West Regions is your contact point for adult developmental services in Waterloo, Wellington, Dufferin, Halton and Peel Regions.Developmental Services can:
    • Provide information to adults seeking developmental services.
    • Confirm eligibility for Ministry-funded services and supports.
    • Complete and application package and needs assessment.
    • Identify supports and services that may be of assistance to you, now or in the future.
    • Make referral to adult developmental services and programs on your behalf.
  • Developmental Services Resource Centre (DSRC) - We offer a range of professional and support services to individuals of all ages with developmental disability and /or an Autism Spectrum Disorder.  We assist individuals and their caregivers in accessing community services and supports.
  • Passport - Passport is a program that helps adults with a developmental disability be involved in their communities and live as independently as possible by providing funding for community participation services and supports activities of daily living and person-directed planning.  The program also provides funding for caregiver respite services and supports for primary caregivers of an adult with a developmental disability.
  • Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) - A provincial program that:
    • Provides income and employment support.
    • Serves adults with a disability in financial need.
