This session will touch on programs primarily for teens and adults, however families with young children will still find it informative and interesting to see what KW Habilitation can offer to their children in the future.

KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. A good life is fostered through early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community involvement and employment supports.

Their work is guided by their Vision Statement: “A community where everyone belongs and participates” and by their Mission Statement: “Together with our community, KW Habilitation inspires abilities to enrich the lives of children, youth, adults and families“.

KW Habilitation offers services and supports that can last a lifetime whether you are graduating school, creating a home, looking for work, making friends or looking towards an active retirement.

Lana Higgison has worked in a number of roles in developmental services for nearly 20 years. For the past 13 years, she has been employed at KW Habilitation. She has worked at a variety of programs; such as Early Learning, Inclusive Living and Day Options, with KWH. For the past two years, Lana has been an Instructor at LEG Up!
