Supreme Court of Canada Confirms Duties of School Board in Meeting Needs of Students with Disabilities

The Supreme Court of Canada released a decision today in Moore v.British Columbia (Education). This decision will be extremely important to students with disabilities in the general education system.

In this case, the Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal in which the Tribunal found that the failure of the school district to meet Jeffrey Moore’s needs as a student with a disability was discriminatory.

WRFN Back to School Seminar

Last night we held our annual Back to School seminar and it was a great night! We had three parents on our parent panel with a wide range of experience with having children with special needs in the classroom.

Six questions were asked and each parent on the panel answered and parents in the audience where then able to ask questions.
