New Story Group Newsletter

Hey Everybody!

Check out the summer newsletter for the New Story Group here:  NSG Newsletter Summer 2015

The New Story Group is described as “A narrative with citizenship at the core. When we can live full lives as citizens, we embrace diversity and participate with others in a range of community experiences. Our labels or disabilities should not limit the way we participate and contribute. Too many citizens have been silenced because of negative attitudes and structural barriers. New Story advocates work to reduce these barriers, while at the same time developing community alternatives that enable everyone to experience an everyday life” (-John Lord)

In this issue you can read about the centrality of relationships, the need for a great civic space and check out links to other newsletters!

This issue of Family Pulse focuses on some great ideas on how to get more out of summer by checking out a few things available in our community. We’ve also included a reprinting from last year on simple and fun activities to keep busy with over the summer months.

Don’t forget to check out the Upcoming Events section (pages 11—13) to learn about programs that are available.

Our annual Back to School issue will come out in August. So when it does, look for some great tips for the coming school year and plan to attend our Back to School seminar on Positive Communication with your School in late August.

Wishing you and your family a safe, happy and enjoyable summer!
