Please join WRDSS on Sunday November 1st for their 14th annual WRDSS Buddy Walk!

The Buddy Walk will be held at the Stanley Park Community Centre with registration starting at 1pm, the walk to start about 2pm, refreshments and entertainment with Eric Traplin following the walk!

There will be face painting, crafts and vendors prior to the walk so get there early to take part in the festivities!

The WRDSS Buddy Walk is a free event and we encourage everyone to attend!  Bring your family, friends and buddies and help us show support for those in our community living with Down syndrome!

Pledges to the WRDSS are welcome and can be collected prior to the event by using the form that came in your last WRDSS newsletter, using Facebook and other social media avenues to spread the word and encourage donations at www.wrdss.ca. Collecting pledges is not mandatory in order to participate in the walk. The walk is also about raising awareness of those living in our community with Down syndrome.

So, come on out for a fun filled afternoon celebrating the important and incredible people in our lives, who just happen to have Down syndrome!

We hope to see you there!!

Are you a Mom of a child 6 and under with Down syndrome?

Would you like an opportunity to connect with other moms with similarly aged children?

On June 6th, from 9:30-11:30, we moms have the opportunity to meet at Our Place/ Early Years Centre in Kitchener to reconnect, chat, and enjoy each others’ company in a relaxed environment. While children younger than a year will stay in our care, children between the ages of 1 and 6 will be provided with a fun childcare program staffed by qualified ECE workers on the premises.

All that is required of this free event is that you register in advance. Please email me at stacey.bartley@yahoo.ca by Thursday, May 28th in order to register. The following information must be included:

The Up Side Down Charity Golf Tournament registration is in full swing for the June 15 event. To date, we have seen tremendous support with registrations and sponsorships. We are very excited how the community has supported the WRDSS and our tournament.

If you are planning to register for the event please let us know by June 1st so we can give the golf course some numbers.

Registration can be done on line at www.wrdss.ca, by email info@wrdss.ca, by fax at 519-896-4488 or by phone at 519-742-1303.

Highlights for this year include:
• Again this year, Panago Pizza has graciously donated pizza for lunch for all those registered.
