On April 26, our 5th annual signature fundraising event, Evening of Elegance, was held in the The Great Hall at Luther Village on the Park. Our 5th annual event also marked a very special occassion for WRFN. It was our 10 year anniversary of WRFN! To celebrate, we shared stories of the families of our Founding Parents, which were on display throughout the room.
It was great to be back in the location where we held our 2nd annual Evening of Elegance. Our guests enjoyed a tasteful evening of mixing and mingling, while they savoured delicious wine, beer and cider - all paired with appetizing food selections.
During the evening, we experienced a captivating performance from Guelph Spoken Word artist, Danielle Workman. Danielle connected with WRFN families to learn of their journeys. With their stories in mind, she wrote and performed an emotional piece titled “Blessings Perceived.” Please watch below.
Guests were also able to participate in a raffle and silent auction.
Many thanks to our longtime friend, Mike Farwell, for being our Master of Ceremonies!
We were so pleased to honour Sue Furey with our Volunteer Award in 2019. Sue was recognized for her heartfelt commitment to Parent Mentorship, participation on the Governance and Nominations Committee, engagement in various working groups, and as a valued contributor to community discussions.
This year’s event was generously sponsored by Heffner Lexus, Melloul-Blamey Construction, Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP, Coupal Markou Commercial Real Estate Inc. Brokerage, and EY. We are so incredibly grateful for your generous and ongoing support.
