Throughout the conference, we will explore the concept of mental health as it pertains to individuals with FASD, and expand this to encompass mental wellness. Research and practical considerations will be incorporated and attendees will be en couraged to consider ways in whcih they may leverage their existing skills sets and collaborative networks, to support wellness.
We will discuss why typical approaches are not effective and how we can modify practices such as cognitive behaviouralt therapy (CBT), group therapy, and motivational interviewing based on your understanding of FASD and the impact on brain functioning.
