Evergreen is launching a new program for youth (ages 18-29) virtually in the cities of Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph (KWCG) this April that would be a good fit for youth that might be looking for opportunities to widen their experience with creating change and address issues in their local community.
This program called “Future City Builders” is recruiting and hiring 25 youth (ages 18-29) to create teams and develop an idea for a healthier, more equitable city. The teams work towards pitching their idea to a panel of local judges and the winning team will receive $5000 in seed-funding. During the 4-month program (April-July, approx. 10 hours per week) youth are trained in design thinking approaches and receive mentorship from local partners (perhaps such as yourself!) with an overall goal of equipping them with job ready skills. *please note; these are paid positions*
In addition, two Project Coordinators living in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, or Guelph (also ages 18-29) will be hired to support the program and hone their professional skills.
