This workshop covers what opioids are, their side effects and the risks associated with misusing opioids, the toxicity of the unregulated drug supply, signs of an opioid overdose and naloxone. We will also talk about opioids in relation to Bipolar Disorder and Psychosis.
Participants will learn to define addiction and opioid use disorder. Discussion will be around the signs, symptoms of withdrawal, and the risk factors of developing opioid use disorder. You will also learn how to speak to someone who is using opioids, protective factors, what treatment options are available, harm reduction strategies, resources and support services.

Beginning February 1, CAMH will be hosting Mindfulness in 30, a free drop-in mindfulness session for caregivers, care providers in health, home care, and disability support services as well as leaders and management professionals in developmental services.
The program is led by Sue Hutton, a mindfulness teacher with 40 years of experience.
Mindfulness in 30 was developed at the CAMH Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre with support from the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence.
