Exploring the Intersectionality of Disability and Race: Advancing Equity and Inclusion

The EDI Knowledge Transfer Committee is excited to bring our REAL Xchange members a session on "Exploring the Intersectionality of Disability and Race: Advancing Equity and Inclusion".

 

Please join us on Thursday March 6th, 2025 at 1:00pm for this session.

 

This presentation will explore the intersection of race and disability and its impact on people accessing services, opportunities, and supports. Representatives from Race and Disability Canada and ODEN will share information about resources and toolkits designed to help organizations engage in meaningful dialogue on this critical topic. The presentation will include a focused discussion on applying these insights to improve the delivery of employment service supports.

Presenters:

Ingrid Muschta, P.Eng

Director, Special Projects & Innovation

Ontario Disability Employment Network

 

Ingrid is a licensed, Professional Engineer with 25+ years of working experience in corporate, entrepreneurial, and not-for-profit settings. Her work with ODEN has contributed to 250 people who have a disability gaining employment.

She has delivered ODEN’s Disability Awareness and Confidence Training to 500+ participants. Ingrid works with a team of professionals identifying and promoting innovative and promising practices in the business sector as well as the employment service provider sector.

 

Raihanna Hirji-Khalfan LL.M

National Director

Race & Disability Canada

Raihanna Hirji-Khalfan is an advocate for social justice and human rights, specializing in race and disability justice. As the National Director of Race and Disability Canada, Raihanna leads a vibrant team to effect systems change through research, capacity building and educational initiatives alongside Indigenous, Black, and Racialized people with disabilities.
