My name is Sabrina Adair, and I am a doctoral student at Queen’s University in the Rehabilitation Science and Health Leadership program.
I am looking for parents who may be interested in participating in a research study that aims to evaluate an occupational therapy-informed parenting education program
This research is being done as part of my Doctorate project, and my supervisor is Dr. Nicole Bobbette.
The focus of this research is to assess the effectiveness of an occupational therapy-informed parenting education program.
To participate, participants need to be a parent or guardian of a child between the ages of 2 and 17 and have a self-identified concern about their child’s development or behaviour. They also need to live in Canada, participate in English (oral and written), and have access to a device that can connect to the Internet.
If they agree to participate, they will be asked to complete an intake survey and some questionnaires. Then they will be invited to complete the asynchronous online course. Upon completion of the course, they will be given some follow-up surveys to complete. If participants are interested in sharing more thoughts about their experience, we are inviting them to participate in a semi-structured interview. Four to six weeks after completing the program, they will receive a follow-up questionnaire about any impact the course has had on them or their family. We anticipate that it will take approximately 3.5 hours to complete the parenting program and an additional 30/minutes/hours to complete the program evaluation surveys.
The research has no cost for participants.
