Today, Inclusion Canada is launching the This is Ableism campaign, funded by Allstate Canada.
Ableism is the view that it is “normal” to not have a disability, and that “normal” is preferred. It’s discrimination on the basis of disability.
The This is Ableism campaign brings together people with disabilities’ own reflections on ableism, and invites us all to consider what we can do to combat discrimination in our own homes, communities, and workplaces.
Visit our website to learn more about ableism and its impact on the lives of persons with disabilities.
Over the next month, as we launch the campaign, we would love to share the This is Ableism campaign with people working in healthcare. Do you have an idea as to how we could get the message out? Please send us an email!
