SkateABLE Kitchener

SkateABLE™ is Canada’s only high-quality adaptive ice skating program for children with physical and developmental disabilities.

 

This program is developmentally appropriate for children with a wide variety of challenges including: cerebral palsy, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, muscle weakness, as well as autism, down syndrome, learning disabilities, and other developmental delays.

All adaptive equipment is provided free of charge.

 

Program Dates: Tuesdays, January 15 - March 12, 2019

Time: 4:00pm

Location: Lion's Arena, 20 Rittenhouse Rd., Kitchener

FASD Training Series for Caregivers

Developmental Services Resource Centre Waterloo Region (DSRC) is hosting a Fetal Alcohol Sprectrum Disorder Training Series for caregivers.

 

This is a four session training series - February 6, 13, 20, 27 from 9:30am until noon.

 

  • Learn how prenatal exposure affects the brain
  • Learn how FASD impacts behaviour with a focus on executive and adaptive functioning
  • Identify what is needed to support individuals living with FASD
  • Learn about local resources and supports available to families

Space is limited so register early. This is a free training.
