2019 Woolwich Counselling Centre Groups

The following programs will be offered through Woolwich Counselling Centre.

 

Stand Tall - This Group promotes confidence and assertiveness, enabling children to protect and express themselves.  

For ages 7-9

Dates: January 14, 21, 28, February 4 and 11, 2019

Time: 6-7pm

Cost: $100

 

Helping Our Teens Conquer Anxiety - This workshop examines the causes and symptoms of adolescent anxiety. Strategies to support and cope with anxiety are provided for teens, their parents and others.

Dates: Monday, February 25, 2019

Time: 7-8pm

Cost: $20/person

 

Glad to Be Me - This fun-filled children’s program promotes self-esteem and self-worth.

For ages 4-7

Dates: Feb.25; March 25; April 29; May 27

Time: 6-7pm

Cost: $20/session 

 

Conquering Teen Anxiety - This group will assist teens to learn effective ways to cope with teenage pressures and stress. They will learn strategies to feel more in control of their daily lives.

For ages 12-14

Dates: March 18, 25, April 1, 8 and 15

Time:7:30-8:30pm

Cost: $100

 

Midfulness - This 6 week adult course will help you discover a healthier, more relaxed

and focused you.

Dates: Mar 21, 28, Apr 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2019

Time: 6:30 - 8:00pm

Cost: $100

 

No Need to Fret - Does your child worry excessively? Do worries and fears interfere with

your child’s ability to enjoy a carefree childhood that all children deserve? Did you know that appropriate and timely intervention can assist anxious children to grow up to be healthy adults?

Successful strategies are provided to help anxious children cope with fears and worries.

For ages 8-11.

Date: May 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2019

Time: 6:00 - 7:00pm

Cost: $100

 

Protecting the Girl in Me - This group develops leadership skills and confidence to enable girls to protect themselves, develop healthy coping mechanisms and positive social connections.

For ages 10-12

Dates: May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Time: 7:30-8:30pm

Cost: $100

Front Door Summer Walk-In Dates

Front Door offers walk-in counselling services at three locations in Cambridge and Kitchener and single counselling and consultation sessions by appointment three days a week at four township locations.

Walk-In is for you if you are:

  • a teen
  • a parent of a child under 18 years old
  • a young person under the age of 12 with your parents’ consent
  • a young person 12 or older (you can attend with an adult if you wish)

Throughout the summer walk-in will be OPEN on all:

Tuesday: 12pm – 6:30pm at Lutherwood, 35 Dickson St, Cambridge
Wednesday: 12pm – 6:30pm at Front Door, 1770 King Street E., Kitchener
Thursday: 9am – 3:30pm at Langs, 1145 Concession Rd., Cambridge

and the following Saturdays: 9:00 - 3:30pm at 1770 King St. E. Kitchener:

  • July 7
  • July 14
  • July 28
  • August 11
  • August 25

Front Door Township Service will also be available throughout the summer.
