Are you concerned about the future of your family member’s RDSP?
Thousands of individuals who have a disability, are the beneficiary of an RDSP. They will be at risk when their aging parents are not able to continue as plan holders. The federal government has added adult siblings to the list of acceptable plan holders and has given the provinces till 2026 to come up with an alternative solution. If none is found the result will be an appointed guardian or a Public Guardian required by the governments to withdraw the fund. Aside from the $10,000 cost for the person and family to appoint a guardian, the issue also is that their right and control of the fund as the beneficiary will be taken away.
Join Family Alliance Ontario at Family Knowledge virtual evening for a discussion on the future of RDSP for our sons and daughters.
What can we do to bring changes to safeguard them as beneficiaries?
What actions do we want the federal and Ontario government take to help our sons and daughters as the beneficiaries?
The Speakers to update us about the issues will be Sean Pegg- CLO director of social policy and strategic initiatives.
and Gillian Chernets- parent representative on the RDSP Action Committee of Ontario and Betty Daly - parent, FAO president.
