Microboards Ontario (MBO) is an incorporated provincial not-for-profit organization that is committed to promoting and supporting the development of microboards across Ontario. A microboard is a committed group of family and friends who join together with a person who has a disability to create a supportive not-for-profit corporation.
Incorporated in 2018, our mission is to advocate for microboards in Ontario and provide people in this province with the resources they need, including education and trusted connections, to develop one. We are looking for an independent, highly credible, authentic, results-oriented leader. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this full- time position with a three-year contract will be a key driver in leading Microboards Ontario into our next exciting chapter.
Working from home, you are a highly organized person who has a passion and commitment to our mission, vision and values, and for breaking new ground that leads to new options for people and families. You will be responsible to implement our strategic plan including efforts to build a sustainable MBO business model. Utilizing your great communication, interpersonal and presentational skills, you will build and maintain respectful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including people, families, government, business partners, and other community members.
Qualifications for this unique opportunity include a post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field, preferably with five years of management experience in a position within the not-for-profit social services area. Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered. Strong computer skills including website management, and experience with social media is also required.
