P4P Planning Network Updates

Over the last year, we have had many opportunities to present a tour of the Planning Network to staff at organizations across Ontario. While making these presentations we realized it would be great to allow all organizations staff to attend a Lunch & Learn webcast where they will have the opportunity to walk through and learn about the Planning Network, while also receiving tips on the best way to share the Planning Network with the families they support.

Alternatives to Guardianship

May 28 at 7pm

There has been an increase in

discussion around parents and caregivers seeking guardianship for their adult child with a developmental disability. This webcast will help families understand the implications of guardianship and how it is usually unnecessary.  It will also delve into decision-making alternatives in Ontario and different ways to think about a person’s rights and ability to

make their own decisions.

“home” is perhaps one of the more difficult aspects of future planning for people with a disability. Many families have found creative and innovative ways to support their loved one in having a home of their own and one of their own choosing.
