‘More together than apart’: The evaluation of a virtual course to improve mental health and well-being of adults with intellectual disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic by St. John, et al.
This study evaluated a 6-week intervention to help self-advocates manage their mental health during COVID. Clinicians and self-advocate teachers delivered the program together, covering topics such as health care communication, managing difficult emotions, and how to stay safe during COVID-19. Study results indicate that participants enjoyed the course and valued the opportunity to connect with other self-advocates.
