THERE'S NO GENDER EQUALITY WITHOUT TRANS WOMEN
On International Women’s Day 2023, hundreds of community organizations from across Canada including Imagine Canada signed a statement declaring that gender equality cannot be achieved without supporting, celebrating, and uplifting trans women. Canada has seen rising hate against trans communities, and particularly against trans women, but trans women deserve our respect and care – in addition to concrete government action to address anti-trans hate.

NEW DATA ON SECTOR'S PERSPECTIVES ON TECHNLOGY, INFLATION, LABOUR SHORTAGES AND MORE
Statistics Canada recently released the latest edition of its Canadian Survey of Business Conditions, which includes valuable and timely data on the nonprofit sector. This quarter, the survey results include data on gender balance in management roles, attitudes toward debt, planned wage changes and lots more.

FEDERAL BUDGET 2023-WHAT IS THE NONPROFIT SECTOR ASKING FOR?
The release of the 2023 Federal Budget is just around the corner. We have analyzed the approximately 300 submissions from the nonprofit sector to the pre-budget consultation process. Several themes emerged: calls for core funding, disaggregated data, a nonprofit sector workforce strategy, affordability measures, a home in government for the sector and investments in DEI initiatives.

Imagine Canada’s staff, operations, work, and network depend on traditional Indigenous territories to provide us physical space, sustenance, safety, and community to work, live, and play. Our physical head office is located on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinabeg, the Haudenosaunee, the Chippewa, and the Wendat (Wyandot).
