From time to time, the Waterloo Region Family Network (WRFN) is asked to distribute information on behalf of third parties. WRFN provides general information to self-advocates and families of children with special needs. Individualized Funding and full portability of funding are building blocks for a full life in community; one of increased choice and control.
We know for years, people have had Individualized Funding but have been told not to talk about it.
We know people are asking for Individualized Funding for a full life, only to be told NO because it doesn’t exist except through Passport.
We know people are having trouble moving funding from one agency to another.
We know that there is strength in numbers, so we have created a survey to collect some data. This information will help us in our advocacy efforts.
You can find the survey here: https://forms.gle/2kS1fQaJd12YZikx7
Please help us by taking a few minutes to complete the survey.
(If you cannot access the survey through this link, please contact Joyce Balaz: joyci@rogers.com or 519-659-3003)
If you are interested in, currently receiving Individualized Funding, have asked for Individualized Funding or are being denied choice in the agency,
Then we want to hear from you!
